Coronavirus suspects to be quarantined in 2 Bodh Gaya hotels - Times of India

GAYA: Two Bodh Gaya hotels have been notified for mandatory quarantisation of people who have recently been to 7 countries including China, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.
According to Gaya district magistrate Abhishek Singh, hotel Sidarth Vihar and hotel Lumbini have been notified for the purpose of quarantining people who have been to high risk countries.
Quarantine protocol would be maintained at these places. Besides the quarantine hotels, a properly equipped isolation ward too was in place, said the DM. Screening of domestic travellers too, has been made mandatory at the airport. Proper tracking of people who may have come in contact with high risk passengers was being done with the help of the passenger data available with the railways too.
Asked about skepticism in medical circles about the lack of ventilation in the hotels as the AC rooms are virtually sealed, the DM said that the due care has been given to the ventilation aspect and there was enough ventilation in the dormitories. As of now, no one has been quarantined and hotels have been notified as a precautionary measure.
Whereas ASI has banned entry into monuments including Taj Mahal, Mahabodhi Temple, a World heritage site like Taj Mahal, has been kept out of ban purview. The ASI ban was applicable to tourist places. But Mahabodhi Temple was a religious place and as such the ASI ban was not applicable to the sacred shrine. However enough precaution was being exercised and visitors were being subjected to screening through infra red thermometers. Visitors are advised to maintain a distance of one meter from each other, said the DM. Footfall, in any case has drastically come down, said Singh.
Earlier, the Union health ministry, on March 16 issued a fresh advisory to the airport officials. As per the advisory, visitors from/transiting through UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait have to be put under mandatory quarantine for a period of 14 days. This is applicable also to Indians working in these countries. A sizeable number of people from Bihar/Jharkhand disembark at the Gaya airport.
