GAYA: With four more coronavirus suspects admitted to the Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College Hospital, the number of Covid- 19 suspects in Bihar's Gaya has gone up to 16.
Confirming the admission of four more suspects, Gaya DM Abhishek Singh said that samples collected from these suspects who showed the virus symptoms have been sent to the virological lab for testing. Reports are awaited, said Singh.
Asked about the preparatory arrangements made by the district administration, the DM said that besides ANMMCH, facility for the isolation of suspects has been created in the Railway Hospital, Military Hospital, Sub Divisional Hospitals located in Tekari and Sherghati and the Mahkar Primary Health centre.
Facility to quarantine about 50 persons in each block head quarter has been created in the 24 blocks of the district. This will be in addition to the 200 bed quarantine facility developed in the district head quarters.
On the point of the lab report of two Thai Smile Airways passengers who, after being alerted by the crew were sent to the isolation ward on Saturday, the DM said that their report too was awaited.
In a related development altogether 10 persons were arrested on the charge of violating the lockdown orders. Criminal cases u/s 188 of the IPC has been registered against 7 others. SSP Rajiv Mishra confirmed the arrests and registration of criminal cases.
Following reports of large scale violation of Lockdown orders, the Gaya administration tightened screws and issued a revised order banning all movement between 7 in the evening and 6 in the morning except in case of acute medical emergency. The DM also ordered closure of provision selling shops before 6.30 in the evening. Only medicine stores will remain open after 6.30.
Another important measure notified by the District Magistrate Abhishek Singh said that the people will have to procure provisions and medicine etc within a radius of three kms.
According to SSP Rajiv Mishra, in some densely populated localities with narrow lanes and by lanes, compliance was deficit has been observed. Some people who consider themselves to be privileged were also violating the lockdown, said the SSP.
Giving details of the punitive action taken against the lockdown violators, the SSP said that altogether seven motor vehicles were seized on Tuesday. Rs 641700 was realised as penalty imposed under various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, the SSP added.
