The quarantined patient is a medical student studying in China from where he returned following the coronavirus outbreak. The DM first visited the exit point of the international flights located on the first floor of the airport. He was accompanied by civil surgeon, Dr BK Singh.
The medical team deputed at the international flight exit point informed the DM that each air passenger was screened with a laser thermometer that instantly displayed the body temperature of the visitor. The visitors are also mandated to fill a form giving details of their travel itinerary including history of recent travel, their proposed place of stay in Bodh Gaya and the places likely to be visited by them.
The DM also visited the domestic flight exit point. As no medical team was found at the domestic flight exit point, the DM asked the civil surgeon to make additional deployment of the medical team to cover the domestic flight passengers as several foreigners also use domestic flights to visit Bodh Gaya.
According to an official Press release, the DM also reviewed the fall out of the coronavirus. Representative of the airlines operating at the Gaya airport, airport director Dileep Kumar, CISF commandant VK Singh and other officials were present at the review meet.
Meanwhile, according to medical college sources, samples collected from the quarantined student have been sent to Patna for virological test. From Patna, the sample is likely to be forwarded to the Pune-based virological lab. Earlier, two other quarantined patients were discharged from the isolation ward as the test reports were found negative.
